Leo John “Jack” Doll, age 91, ret. Boeing Sheet metal assembler, Vulcan Maintenance worker, farmer/rancher, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

Leo John “Jack” Doll, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at his home in Clearwater, Kansas. He was born to Barney and Mary (Kretchmer) on Tuesday, February 1, 1927 in the family home in Rural Ellinwood, Kansas.

Leo joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served as Fireman First Class from January 31, 1945-May 9, 1946. He worked for Boeing for 18 years as a sheet metal assembler and in maintenance for 21 years at Vulcan. Leo also helped out with the cattle business with his son and grandson. He was a farmer/rancher for over 58 years in Peck and Clearwater.

Leo “Jack” believed in God fully and attended Resurrection Lutheran Church in Haysville. He was noted as saying “You give to the Lord & you get twice fold back”. He was on the church building committee as as several terms of church counsel.

On May 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ruby A. Krause in Wichita, Kansas. They were married for 65 years before she passed away in January 2016.

Leo loved coaching all of his children and many of his grandchildren in baseball and softball. He taught if you gave it 110% that if you lost, you still won. He also loved to hunt and taught his sons and grandsons to hunt but made it a priority to remember safety first and had his children take the hunter safety course before they hunted.

Preceded by parents, Barney and Mary (Kretchmer) Doll;  wife of 65 years, Ruby; son, Lon Doll; 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors: children, Vicki (John) Larsen, Jacki (Felix) Chapa all of Clearwater, Candi (Dan) McKerracher of Grapevine, TX, Randy (Rhonda) Doll of Norwich, Justin Doll of Wichita; daughter-in-law, Trudy Doll of Clearwater; brother, Bert (Reiko) Doll of Napa, CA; sister-in-law, Rita Doll; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
