Eva M Jones

Eva M. (McCammon) Jones, age 64, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023.

Eva was born on December 31, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas to her loving parents, Dean

and Velma McCammon (Beagley).

As a child, Eva was vibrant and fun, often enjoying tap dancing competitions with her

brother and partner, Floyd. Eva was also involved in Girl Scouts. After high school, she enrolled

in Wesley School of Nursing, after graduating from nursing school, Eva spent a majority of her

career working as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph Medical Center.  While working at St. Joe,

Eva worked in many departments but found her greatest passion in working in Labor

and Delivery. Eva had a great aptitude for nursing, not only the medical side but also the

compassion and caring she showed to her patients. 

When Eva wasn’t working, you could find her at the lake, sitting in a comfy chair

crocheting or sewing or possibly in the kitchen baking up a storm. Eva loved baking for

others and would often make dozens of loaves of her wonderful pumpkin bread and banana

bread . She also had an amazing crocheting talent, often gifting others with beautiful blankets,

rugs, etc. Eva loved her animals too. She always had at least two or three fur babies in her

home all the time.  Eva enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved her grandchildren

immensely.

Eva’s Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Eva is preceded in death by her father, Dean McCammon, mother, Velma McCurry;

stepfather, Leon McCurry; brother, Floyd McCammon and granddaughter, Lilliana.

Eva is survived by daughters: Melissa (Jason) Jennings, of Olathe, KS; Melanie

(Stanley) Kirk of Lincoln, NE and bonus daughter, Amy (Keith) Hephner of Haysville,

KS. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Kayleigh & Norah of Olathe, KS; Logan,

Cain, Oliver, & Theodore of Lincoln, NE; Haley & Abbey of Haysville,

KS.
