Vivian Jean (Dunn) Maechtlen

Clearwater - Vivian J. (Dunn) Maechtlen, age 98, ret. Boeing Supervisor, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019. Visitation, 9am-7pm, Monday, January 6, 2020, with family present, 5:30-7pm, Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Services, 10am, Tuesday, January 7, 2020, Clearwater United Methodist Church.

Vivian was born on Wednesday, February 9, 1921 in Delano Township, Wichita, Kansas. She was the oldest of five children born to John and Lois Edna (Showalter) Dunn. She was united in marriage to Clarence John Maechtlen on June 19, 1943 in Clearwater, Kansas, at the Baptist Parsonage. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Maechtlen; father, John Gardner Dunn; mother, Lois Edna Showalter Dunn Stewart; stepfather, Paul Stewart; brother Gilbert Dunn; sisters Lois Webb and Mary Miller; nieces Michelle Self and Debra Jacobs; nephew Roger Wentworth.

She is survived by one brother, Wayne Dunn of Clearwater; brother-in-law, Richard Webb of Wichita; nieces Gail Fent of Tulsa, Sondra (Jon) Chambers of Clearwater, Terrie (Jim) Huntington of Fairway, KS, Renee (Van) Tjaden of Clearwater, Ronda (Richard) Townsend and Sharla Leverenz, both of Wichita; one nephew, Floyd Dunn of Casper, WY.; special family members Brad and Diane Nickelson of Clearwater; “grandsons”, Justin (Morgan) Nickelson and Braedon of Clearwater, Matt (Brittani) Nickelson and Madelyn of Pratt, Jarrod (Sarah) Nickelson of Wichita.
