Clearwater- Cara D. (Welch) Thomas,
age 36, loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. Visitation, Noon-4pm, Monday, June 11th, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Rosary, 7pm, Monday. Funeral Mass, 10am, Tuesday, June 12th, BOTH at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville. Cara was born on Friday, March 5, 1982 in Topeka, Kansas. She is one of two children born to Larry Dale Welch and Catherine Marie Bell Welch. She lived in Valley Center until 1991, graduating from Valley Center in 2000. She moved to Clearwater in 2001. Cara graduated from Friends University with a bachelors degree in 2010. She was united in marriage to Christopher James Thomas on July 14, 2001 in Haysville, Kansas. She worked as a bank teller at Bank of America from 2001-2007 and was a Personal Service Representative at Credit Union of America from 2007-2011. Survivors: husband, Chris; daughter, Morgan, son, Isaac; parents, Larry and Cathy Welch; brother, Greg (Melissa Wright) Welch, all of Wichita; mother-in-law, Kathy Thomas; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Danny) Resser, Jennifer (Jarrod) Brown; brother-in-law, Josh (Sherri) Thomas.
