OD Hartman, age 75, of Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed away at his daughter’s home in Viola, Kansas on Saturday, October 11, 2014. OD was born September 7, 1939, to George Francis and Nellie May (Williams) Hartman in Picher, Oklahoma. OD retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. He married Joyce Juanita Sanders on June 22, 1961, in Conway, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings, Margaret, Paul, Jack and Marion Morton. Survivors include his three daughters, Kelley (Jim) McDowell of Viola, Kansas, Leslie (Rick) Chubb of Holly Springs, North Carolina, Shannon Hartman of Baxter Springs; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Bill Buhler of Dairyland, Wisconsin and George Hartman, Jr. of Crescent City, California. A private service will be held. A memorial has been established with National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St, New York, NY 10016.

Wisinski, Robert Joseph, 79, of Wichita and retired Illinois Tollway employee, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 10, 2014.

 

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 14, at 1:00 pm at Sedgwick Plaza.

 

Robert was preceded by his first wife, Loraine (Kajier) Wisinski.

 

His survivors include his wife, Roberta “Bobby” Wisinski; children, Suzanne (Curtis) Cole of Wichita, Joseph Wisinski of Poynette, Wisconsin, James Wisinski (Debra Glasier) of Oakbrook Terrace, IL; and three grandchildren.

 

A memorial has been established for his wife, Roberta Wisinski for her care in care of Sedgwick Plaza, 2455 N. Woodlawn, Wichita, KS 67220.

Gregory S. “Greg” Bennett age 54, auto technician for Automotive Diagnostic Center, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014.

 

Rosary Monday, October 6, 7pm. Funeral Mass Tuesday, October 7, 11am both at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville.

 

Greg was born Tuesday, July 19, 1960, to Wayne Charles and Joan Lorene (Patrie) Bennett in Wichita. He attended Bishop Carroll and graduated from North High School. He married Annette Marie Boehm on June 22, 1985, in Haysville.

 

Greg was preceded by his parents and a sister, Patricia Bennett.

 

Survivors include his wife, Annette and son, Joshua both of Wichita; brothers, Michael “Mike” (Reatha) Bennett of Park City, Charles  “Chuck” (Gay) Bennett of Clearwater.

Fitch, Donald A. “Don”, age 79, of Clearwater, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 22, 2014.

 

Don was born October 13, 1934, to Albert Horace and Clara Leita (Milliken) Fitch in Manhattan, Kansas. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Don married Elna Irene Fitz on April 6, 1962, in Wichita. He retired as an engineer for Boeing after 43 years.

 

Visitation Thursday, 9am-8pm w/family present 5:30-7pm at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Services Friday at 1:30pm, Clearwater United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Clara Fitch; sisters, Margaret Tucker, Marian Breaker, Dorothy Tanner, and Betty Fox; brother, Dick Fitch.

 

Survivors include his wife Elna of the home; daughters, Cheryl (Eric) Dedrick of Clearwater, Connie (Chris) Kellogg of Phoenix, Steven (Fawn) Fitch of Phoenix; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Barbara Fay (Wetz) Hurst, age 76, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 20, 2014, at her home.

Visitation with family present will be held Tuesday, September 23, from 4-6pm at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Private Family Services.

Barbara was born November 27, 1937, in Sanger, California to Worley William and Emily  “Dolly” Amanda (McKee) Wetz. She attended Clearwater High School and married Nathan Grant Hurst on April 1, 1983. She retired from Globe Engineering in 1995, as a secretary in production planning.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Hershel Morse; step-daughter, Patricia Drake; daughter-in-law, Kathie Edmonson; granddaughter, Becky Jo Bonnisen.

Her survivors include her husband, Nathan of the home; sons, Rex  Edmondson of Tahlequah, OK, Robert Edmondson of Perkins, OK, Ronald (Delana) Edmondson of Anthony, Randall “Randy” Edmondson of Clearwater; step-daughters, Vickie Glass of Wichita, Sherry Fleming of Wichita, Kathleen “Kathie” (Jim) Irons of Central Point, OR, Geneva (Russell) Land of Wichita and Merrie VanSickle; sister Beverly Lozar of Satanta, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Howard was born on Friday, July 30, 1926 in Greenridge, Missouri, to William Stephens and Ethel (Hill) Stephens. He was raised in and around the Goddard, Kansas area, graduating from Goddard High School. 

He was united in marriage on July 12, 1958 in Attica, Kansas to Marjorie O. Deyoe.

 

 

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; siblings, Ruth Munsch, Alice Floyd and Carl Stephens. His survivors include his children, Richard (Sharon) Stephens of Stinnett, Texas, Carolyn (Raymond) McIntyre of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

Paul E. Barker, age 83, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away, Friday, September 12, 2014, at the Via Christi Harry Hynes Inpatient Unit in Wichita. Paul was born Saturday, February 21, 1931, in Harper, Kansas. He attended Pleasant Valley Country School in Harper and graduated from Harper High School in 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On August 22, 1953, Paul and Mary Belle (Walsh) were married in Our Lady Guadalupe Church in Wichita. In December of 1955 the couple moved to Haysville. Paul worked for Phillips Service Station and Ralph Sandefur Ford and retired from the U.S, Postal Service as a clerk on December 1, 1991.

 

Rosary, 7:00 pm, Monday, September 15th. Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 16th,  BOTH at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Haysville.

 

Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Ruth (Beller) Barker; siblings, Sam Barker, Lena Metzger, Lois Dalke, Pauline Freeman, Dale and Gayle Barker.

 

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; children, David Barker of Haysville, Paula Barker of Wichita, and Kevin (Kathy) Barker of Rose Hill; granddaughter, Emily Barker of Rose Hill; siblings, Donald (Martha) Barker of Vista, California, Martha (Melvin) Dunn of Meriden, Kansas, Glenda (Virgel) Mason of Haysville, Ronnie (Tami) Barker of Harper, Kansas.
