William W. "Bill" Bond, age 86, Beloved husband and father, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010. Visitation 9am-8pm, Tuesday at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Graveside Services, 9 am, Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery, Oatville, Kansas.
Bill was born August 31, 1923 to Walter and Lenore Bond in Enid, OK . At the age of 3 his parents divorced and he and his mother moved to Wichita. He attended Wichita schools through the first year of Junior High and then moved to Fay, Ok to live with his grandmother. He attended the second year of Junior High at Fay. His father and stepmother lived north of Enid and he lived with them his high school years and graduated from Carrier High School in 1941. After harvest, he moved back to Wichita and started working for Pearce-Turk Dental Laboratory. He enlisted into the Navy 1944 and on his discharge 1946 he returned to Pearce-Turk retiring from there July 31, 1988. On Easter Sunday he had a date with Mary Frances Montford and they were married June 19, 1955 in Pratt, KS. His interests were astronomy, hunting, fishing, and bluegrass music. He was president of IBBB. He was known to some as the Singer of Songs. Survivors: wife of 55 years, Fran; son, Ward of Haysville; daughter, Diana (Clifford) Warren, of Wichita; step-mother, Emily of Arkansas City. Memorial: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
