hubbard_margaret_color_picMargaret L. (Davidson) Hubbard, age 92, of Goddard, homemaker and teacher, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Visitation, Noon-8pm, Thursday, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Services, 10am, Friday, at Goddard United Methodist Church.

She was a life long resident of Goddard, Kansas. She graduated from Goddard High School in 1935. She then attended Emporia State Teacher's College and received her life time teaching certification. Margaret taught in Harrington, Kansas, starting the first kindergarten program in the district. She taught all 8 grades in a one room school house. Margaret was an active member of the Goddard Women's Club. She was involved for many years on the Goddard Library Board and was actively involved in the children's story hour. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, George L. Hubbard, Jr., her parents, Clark and Florence (Holm) Davidson; sister, LaVerne Renner and brother, Kenneth Davidson. She is survived by her children, George L. Hubbard III and his wife, Sandra of Cleveland, OK; Jeannie Ciemny and her husband, Richard, of Derby, KS; grandchildren, Dr. Lori Hubbard and husband, Dr. Brian Yount of Tulsa, OK; Garrett Hubbard of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa; Aaron Long and wife, Cassandra of DeSoto, KS; Matthew Long of Lawrence, KS; great-granddaughter, Emma Yount of Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial has been established in Margaret's name with Clark Davidson Elementary Library, c/o Administration Office, 201 S. Main, Goddard, Kansas 67052.
