Visitation is Tuesday, 9am-8pm, w/family present 5:30-7:30pm, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary in Clearwater.

Services are scheduled for Wednesday, 11am at the First Christian Church in Clearwater.

Joe was preceded in death by wife, B. Clarene (Waln) Weaver; parents, Carlton and Florence (Boorse) Weaver; sister, Betty Zeuke Poole. He is survived by his children, Denise (Gary) Morehead, Ross Weaver, all of Clearwater, Jon (Loretta) Weaver, Kit (Dan) Slater, all of Wichita; siblings, John Weaver of Wilmington, NC, Russell (Gloria) Weaver of Easton, MD, Marion Landis of Baltimore, MD; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

Dunbar Richard ovalValley Center- Richard D. "Rick" Dunbar, age 71, former Pilot at Air Midwest, computer enthusiast, talented videographer, and gifted musician, passed away from his battle with brain cancer, Wednesday, July 9, 2014. 

 

Visitation will be Sunday, 1-5pm, w/ family present from 3:30-5pm at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary in Clearwater.

 

Services are scheduled for Monday, 11am, at the First Christian Church in Clearwater.

 

Rick was born on Saturday, May 22, 1943 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Carmen Blumenshine on September 15, 1973 in Clearwater, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Hazel (Wiltse); brother, Ernie. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; children, Crystal (John) Toothaker of Clearwater, Jason (Heidi) Dunbar of Park City, Ryan (Alicia) Dunbar of Wichita; siblings, Dave (Wilma) Dunbar of Branson, MO, Phyllis Avery of Dallas, TX, Pat Seymour, of Princeton, TX, Jim (Judy) Dunbar of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Brock, Carter & Will Toothaker, Tyler, Lilly & Zoey Dunbar, and Liam & Jase Dunbar.

 

Interment will be at Clearwater Cemetery.

Phyllis R. (Reid) Fleming, age 78, of Wichita, retired Nurse, CNA & Physical Therapy Assistant, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014.

 

Visitation, Fri, 9am-8pm, with family present, 5:30-7pm. Services, 10am, Sat, BOTH at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel, Clearwater. Interment will be in Attica Cemetery, Attica, Kansas. 

 

Phyllis was born on Tuesday, October 22, 1935 in Harper, Kansas. She was the first of six children born to her parents, Harrison William Reid and Vera Ethel (Weaver) Reid. She graduated from Attica High School and went on to attend Pratt Community College where obtained her Certified Nursing Aide degree.

 

On December 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Harold Fleming in Attica, Kansas. After Harold returned from the Korean War, they moved to Sharon, Kansas. In 1966, they moved to Clearwater near the Ninnescah River in an old farm house. Later, they moved to the west side of Clearwater where they lived until 1987 when they moved to 47th Street in Wichita, near Boeing. Phyllis enjoyed quilting, playing cards and reading, especially Agatha Christie mystery novels. She also liked flower gardening. Her garden included Iris’s, Mums and hens & chicks.

 

Phyllis was a full time mother until she went to work for the Bowman’s at the Mustard Seed Restaurant in 1974. Later she went to work at the Clearwater Nursing Home where she retired as a CNA Physical Therapy Assistant.  She was also a member of South City Baptist Chapel in Wichita, Ks.

 

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on February 29, 2008; sons, Darrel and Scott Fleming; and a brother, Stan Reid.  She is survived by her son Ronald Fleming, of Wichita, Steven (Tiffany) Fleming of Lynnwood, WA, Jeffery Fleming of Grand Junction, CO; siblings, Wayne (Pat) Reid of Brookland, TX, Larry (Theresa) Reid of Basehor,  Joyce Seipel of Norwich, Peggy Reid of Valley Center, KS; sister-in-law, Pam Reid of Brighton, CO; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren. 

 

Memorials have been established in her name with South City Baptist Church, 1513 E. Galena St., Wichita, KS 67216 or a Religious Institution/Church of your choice.

Lucille was born on Thursday, October 24, 1935 in rural Goddard, Kansas. She was second of four daughters born to Albert Horace Ottaway and Clare Marie (Russell) Ottaway. On September 4, 1955, she was united in marriage to James DeWayne Gerlach in Goddard, Kansas. 

 

Lucille was preceded  in death by her parents, Albert and Clare (Russell) Ottaway; and her sister, Lois Ottaway. Survivors: husband, DeWayne Gerlach; daughter, Ann (Randy) Brillhart of Wichita; sisters, Louise Hillman of Ada, MI, Leah Newsom of Arcadia, CA; grandchildren, Joseph Brillhart, Sarah Brillhart.

Judy was born on Thursday, April 8, 1948 in Cortez, Colorado. She was the seventh of eight children born to her parents, Ancil Thomas and Leona Eloise (Brocaw) Hodson. 

 

Preceded in death by her parents, Ancil and Leona (Brocaw) Hodson; daughter, Lisa (Roetto) Black; brothers, Charles, Jr., Donnie, Len, and Terry Hodson; sister, Janice Moore. Survivors: husband, Joe; son, Shawn Roetto of Wichita; step-children, Megan Miller and Clint Whitney; brother, Gary Hodson of Broken Bow, OK; sister, Jolene (Jack) Neckels of Grand Junction, CO; 7 grandchildren.

Clearwater- Vulgamore, Jim C., age 79, retired City of Clearwater maintenance worker, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014.

 

Visitation will be 9am-8pm, Friday, with family present, 5:30-7pm, Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Services, 10am, Saturday, at the First Christian Church.

 

 

Jim was born on Monday, November 19, 1934 in Anness, Kansas. He was the oldest of five children born to his parents, Ralph Clare Vulgamore and Ada Ruth McMillian Vulgamore. He was united in marriage on April 2, 1961 to Kayla Jean Price in Rush Center, Kansas. Kayla preceded him in death on October 27, 1999 after 38 years of marriage.

 

Jim was a member of the First Christian Church in Clearwater. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting. He worked for Boeing 6 yrs., Vulcan Materials 15 yrs., Clearwater Excavating 15 yrs, and retired from the City of Clearwater after 17 yrs at the age of 76.

 

 

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Kayla (Price) Vulgamore; parents, Ralph and Ruth (McMillian) Vulgamore. He is survived by his children, Kelly Truman, Craig Vulgamore, both of Clearwater; siblings, Carole (Clarence) Frazier of Wichita, Mike (Shirlyn) Vulgamore of Ft. Worth, TX, Rojean (Ez) Mullet of Mt. Home, AR, Kay Doss of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Angela (Greg) Inkelaar of Wichita.
