Laura was born on August 16, 1930 in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, to her parents William Warren Day and Emma Rosa Wenzel Day. She was united in marriage to John Lowell Duncan on November 15, 1947 in Golden City, Missouri. 

Preceded by parents, William and Emma (Wenzel) Day; son, Larry Duncan; 6 brothers and sisters. Suvivors: husband of almost 70 years, John; children, Linda (Norman) Hickman of Perrin, TX, Lola Cachard of Dallas, TX, Rex (Mary Jane) Duncan of Clearwater; brothers, Lester (Betty) Day of Pretty Prairie, Bill Day of Hutchinson; sister, Francis Wilson of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Janeen, Dale, Carrie, Ryan. Adam; great-grandchildren, Justyn, Zachary, Parker, Madeline, Sophia.

Johnny was born on Friday, October 19, 1928 in Neodosha, Kansas. He was the youngest of eight children born to Fred and Edith (Hoff) Gubitz. He was united in marriage to Mary Lucille Allred on April 15, 1951 in Haysville, Kansas. She preceded him in death on September 9, 2013. 

 

Preceded by wife, Mary Lucille (Allred) Gubitz; sons, James and Jack Gubtiz; parents, Fred and Edith (Hoff) Gubitz; sisters, Violet Coltrare, Ruby Mae McNeill, Mildred Wright, Valere Gubitz, Freda Nighswonger, and Joyce (Johnny's twin sister, died in infancy); brother, Fred F. Gubitz. Survivors: grandchildren, Tristan, Rachael, Alexander, Elizabeth, Cale, and Carson Gubitz.

Ingrassia Carmen Carmen R. Ingrassia, age 81, ret. independent Sales Person, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017. Private family burial. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, May 27, at 10:30 at the Ray Avenue Baptist Church. 

Carmen was born on Friday, December 20, 1935 in Stockton, New Jersey. He was the youngest of eight children born to Pietro and Angellina (Madonna) Ingrassia. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Pietro and Angellina (Madonna) Ingrassia; daughter, Lori Heimer of Assaria; two brothers and five sisters. Survivors: significant other, Lois Jones of Wichita, daughter, Cheli (Matt) Johnson of Wichita; son, Kelly (Kathy) Ingrassia of Salina; son-in-law Ron Heimer of Assaria, grandchildren, Chanda Costa, Monica Deal, Benjamin Johnson, Genell Heimer, Joni Alexander, Lynnsey Heimer, Katie Eberle, Steven, Ryan & Sara Ingrassia, 8 great-grandchildren.

Haysville-Edward A. Jr. Pokorski, age 74, ret. Air Force Master SGT (20 years), received Meritorious Service Medal for service in Vietnam, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church for 40 years.

Visitation, 9am-3pm, Tuesday, May 9th, Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater. Rosary, 10am, Wednesday, May 10th, with Funeral Mass to follow at 11am, St Cecilia Catholic Church.

Survivors: wife, Michele; sons, Edward W. (Kate) Pokorski of Wichita, Shawn (Shivaun) Pokorski of Great Bend, Darren Pokorski of Haysville; grandchildren, Maddix, Tatyanna, Connor Pokorski, and Malaki Jones. He was a graduate of Univ of Alaska and Newman Univ. Retired from City of Wichita Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, also retired Pizza Hut Driver. He was an avid fisherman and involved in Field Trialing dogs. He loved his English Setters. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Keever Wire VFW Post#6957.
