Rink, Sandra S.

Clearwater- Rink, Sandra Sue (Stuart), age 63, homemaker, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

 

Visitation will be 1pm, Friday, with Memorial Services immediately following at 2pm, both at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater.

 

Sandy was born on December 6, 1950 in Wichita.  She then lived and grew up in Clearwater, and graduated from the high school in 1969.   

 

Sandy was also a member of the Ninnescah Bible Baptist Church in Clearwater.

 

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Stuart and Anita (Wentworth) Metzger. She is survived by her sons, Travis (Jill) Rink of Goddard, Brad (Trish) Rink of Viola; grandchildren, Nathon Miller, Madolynn Rink, Ethan Rink, Gabrielle Rink, Reagan Rink, and Brooke Rink; sister, Wendy Layton of Clearwater; brother, Craig Stuart of Wichita; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stuart of Wichita.

heitman JimPeck- Heitman, Jimmie Lee “Two Loops”, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. He was a retired cattle rancher, farmer. He loved his horses, playing golf, cards, and his family & friends.

 

Visitation will be Noon-8pm on Wednesday, w/family from present 6-8pm at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary in Clearwater.

 

Memorial Services are scheduled for 11am, Thursday, at South Rock Christian Church in Derby.

 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Maxine Heitman. Clearwater-Gerlach, Martena J. “Marty” (Mossman), age 73, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014.

 

Visitation will be Monday, 9am-8pm, w/family present from 6-7:30pm at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary.

 

Services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10am at Clearwater United Methodist Church.

 

 

Marty was born on Wednesday, November 27, 1940 to Virgil Milo and Christena Grace (Whipps) Mossman in Iola, KS.  She lived in Topeka and Caldwell until she was two years old. She and her family then moved to Potwin where she attended elementary school and Golden Gate country school in 5th and 6th grade.  In 1953, her family moved to Viola and Marty graduated from the high school, there, in 1958.

 

On May 20, 1957, Marty married Frank Loy Gerlach at Grace Methodist Church in Wichita, KS.  In the Fall of 1963, she and Frank moved to Clearwater where they raised their three children: Doreen, Rod, and Shelly, and have called Clearwater "home" ever since.

 

Throughout the years, Marty worked in many receptionist/adminstrative assistant positions throughout the area. In 1989, she began working at Cessna Aircraft Company, and stayed there until retirement in November 2002.  Following her retirement, she worked part-time at ABC Floral here in Clearwater.

 

Marty and Frank were members of the Clearwater United Methodist Church in which she was involved in the United Methodist Women's group.  She was also a past member of the Ninnescah Chapter 423 Order of Eastern Star.  Marty enjoyed reading, flower arranging, spending time with and sharing in her grandchildren's activities, and volunteering at the church.

 

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Christena Mossman; brother, Charles “Chuck” Mossman. She is survived by her husband, Frank Gerlach; children, Doreen (Tom) Brady of Eudora, Rod (Charlene) Gerlach of Clearwater, Shelly (Jack) Mattson of Wichita; siblings, Norman Mossman of Melbourne, FL, Gayla (Charles) Rinehart of Clearwater, Bernita Mossman of Wichita; sister-in-law, Linda Mossman of Wichita; 8 grandchildren, Matthew  (Ashley) Gerlach, Joshua (Jessica) Gerlach, Scott (Krista) Brady, Steven Brady, Sarah Brady, McKenzie Mattson, David Gerlach, James Mattson; 1 great-grandchild, Addylee Gerlach.

Greg Greg A.Purdon, age 62, of Clearwater, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-8PM, w/ family present 5:30-7PM at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel in Clearwater.

Services will be Wednesday at 1PM at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel.

Greg was born on Wednesday, May 30, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas, to his parents, Lucion Gilmer Purdom and Oneda Velma (Singleton) Purdom. He lived most of his life in Clearwater, Kansas. On January 10, 1988, he was united in marriage to Georgia Ellen Ammel at Faith Christian Church in Wichita, Kansas. 

Greg has worked since the age of 16 in various shops, beginning with Audio Visual, Duraform, Inc., United Technical Institute as a welding instructor, Professional Machine & Tool. He had been working for Milling Precision Tool Corp the past 18 years. 

Greg enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever possible. His biggest pleasure was watching his boys play soccer and perform in their school music and theater productions. He was very proud of his sons and their many accomplishments. 

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Lucion and Oneda (Singleton) Purdom.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia (Ammel) Purdom; sons, Michael (fiancé, Britney Davis) Purdom of Wichita, KS and Matthew Purdom; sister, Glenda Purdom, all of Clearwater.
