Lenoard R. Westbrook Lenoard R. Westbrookage 86, ret. Boeing accountant (33 yrs), Church of Christ preacher, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015.

Visitation, 9:30-10:30AM, Mon. Services, 10:30AM, Mon, BOTH at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary Chapel, Clearwater.

 

Lenoard Ray Westbrook was born on Thursday, January 3, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the only child born to George Columbs Westbrook and Velna May (Ball) Westbrook. He worked at Boeing for 33 years and an Evangelist for 29 years. He preached at Westside Church of Christ in Wichita, Kansas and Quail Valley Church of Christ in Batesville, Arkansas. 

Lenoard was united in marriage to Betty Jo Thompson on December 25, 1949. She preceded him in death after 58 years of marriage.

On November 9, 2013, he married Carol Richardson Siota in Athens, Alabama. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo (Thompson) Westbrook; parents, George and Velna (Ball) Westbrook. Survivors: wife, Carol, of Athens, AL; children, Lenoard Westbrook, Jr, (Carmen) of Athens, AL, Dennis (Vickie) Westbrook of Clearwater, Richard (Barbara) Westbrook of Richmond, MO; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Armstrong, Wanda B., age 93, homemaker, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 16, 2015.

Visitation Tuesday, 5:30-7pm. with family  present. Funeral Wednesday, July 22, at 10:30am, both at Celebration Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Alice Shepherd; husband, William “Cecil” Armstrong in 2004; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Wanda was born Tuesday, July 11, 1922, to Leslie Calvin and Alice Gertrude (Creel) Shepherd in Panhandle, Texas. She was the youngest of 6. She married William Cecil Armstrong on November 8, 1942, also in Panhandle.

Her survivors include her son, Jerry (Elizabeth “Liz”) Armstrong; grandson and his wife, Seth and Diedre Armstrong all of Wichita. 

A memorial has been established with Celebration Baptist Church Youth Group, 7202 E. 9th St. N., Wichita 67206.

Corr, Alice Faye

country church drawingAlice Faye Corr, age 86, formerly of Clearwater, passed away, Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation Sunday, July 5, 3-5pm Funeral Service Monday, July 6, 10am BOTH at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary.

Faye was born November 11, 1928, to Art and Katie Hiatt in Lowell, Arkansas. She had a sister, Jo Ella a brother John, and a twin brother, Ray. When Faye was three, her mother passed away. When she was five, her father passed away. At that time, Faye and her sister and two brothers went to live in separate homes. Faye was not reunited with them until after she was grown and married.Faye was adopted by Charles and Myrtle Pearson who made their home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After Faye graduated from high school in Fort Smith, she moved to Wichita to live with her sister, Jo Ella and work for Weigand Real Estate. JoElla and her husband, Ivan Johnson introduced Faye to Meredith Corr of Clearwater.Faye and Meredith Corr were married January 24, 1948, in Wichita. Soon after their marriage they moved to Clearwater. Later, Meredith and Faye lived and farmed west of Clearwater. Meredith passed away in September, 1985. They had three children, David, Debra, and Tim.  David passed away suddenly at age 2. Debra passed away suddenly on December 23, 2001. Tim lives in Phoenix Arizona with his wife Monica. Debra has a daughter, Faye’s granddaughter, Kristal, who also lives in Phoenix with her daughter, Kaylei. Faye was extremely proud of her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.  Faye moved to Phoenix in 2010 to be closer to her family.

Faye was a member of the Clearwater United Methodist Church for 50+ years. She is a charter member of Golden Chain, serving as president for many years. She is a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, having served as treasurer for several years. For many years, Faye helped with the Red Cross Nutrition Program for Clearwater, part time activity director, working with the department of aging to get more support for the Clearwater Senior Center.

Faye is survived by her son Tim and his wife Monica, granddaughter Kristal, and great-granddaughter Kaylei all of Phoenix.

Garland was born on Friday, April 20, 1928 in Clearwater, Kansas. He was the oldest of two sons born to Everett Ernest Fleming and Majorie Marie Boyer Fleming. 

He was united in marriage to Mary Helen Erwin on October 17, 1951 in Clearwater, Kansas.

Preceded by parents, Everett and Marjorie (Boyer) Fleming; brother, Donald “Chig” Fleming. Surviviors include his wife, Mary; children, Ron Fleming and Diane Hoheisel, of Clearwater; grandchildren, Heith Cotton, Chase (Heather) Cotton, Amber Fleming, Alesha (Ryan) Martin; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Kyler, Austin & Cayden Cotton, Hunter and Hadley Martin.

Preceded by his wife, Betty (Lantz) Davis; parents, Clyde and Mary  Davis; daughters, Beverly, & Deborah Newby; brothers, Albert and Arthur Davis, sister, Lucille; grandson, Shawn Davis.
